Dr Ferguson graduated from the University of Western Australia and qualified as an Ophthalmic surgeon in 1993. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. Additional roles include Councillor and Board member [first female elected] of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists [RANZCO] at State/Federal levels.
She has worked in both the private and public health systems in Australia and the United Kingdom as a general Ophthalmologist with a special interest in periorbital skin cancer and inflammatory disease.
Dr Annette Ferguson is a consultant ophthalmologist providing services in:
– General Ophthalmology (Wexford Medical Centre, Murdoch)
– Independent Medical Examination
– Medicolegal Consultations /Expert Witness with referrals from government departments [Comcare, WorkCover WA qualified], insurance companies and legal practices.
Apart from Ophthalmology, Annette has been a locum surgical assistant, Dermatology researcher, medical student mentor and professional opera singer. Her passions are her family of 3 adult children, not to forget Charlie the toy poodle and cycling/walking holidays with her Dermatologist husband.
