dr jason limDr Jason Lim is an Ophthalmologist with fellowship training from world renown eye institutes. He is a local graduate, born and raised in W.A. After graduating from the University of Western Australia, and completing his residency in W.A., he undertook various training abroad. He has trained in the UK, Singapore and the USA. He recently completed his glaucoma and cataract fellowship at the renowned St Paul’s Eye Institute in the Royal Liverpool Hospital, Liverpool, U.K.

Dr Jason Lim brings non-penetrating glaucoma surgery to Western Australia. In addition to traditional penetrating glaucoma surgery, he is the first fully fellowship trained non-penetrating glaucoma surgeon in W.A.

Non-penetrating glaucoma surgery is a relatively new type of glaucoma surgery which compared to traditional glaucoma surgery, allows for more rapid recovery, much lower risk of complications; whilst achieving similar postoperative outcomes.

He is also at the cutting edge of glaucoma surgical management incorporating Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgical (MIGS) devices (or glaucoma stents) into his practice. He is the first surgeon in Western Australia to successfully insert the Cypass MIGS / glaucoma stent device.

Glaucoma management – laser, Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgical devices / glaucoma stents, penetrating (trabeculectomy and tube insertion) and non-penetrating glaucoma surgery (deep sclerectomy)
Pterygium
– Medical Retina – age related macular degeneration (AMD), vein occlusion, diabetic retinopathy, Anti VEGF injections
– General Ophthalmology

Dr. Lim operates at: St John of God Murdoch, Perth Eye Hospital, Bentley Hospital (for uninsured patients), and Fremantle Hospital.

He consults in our Murdoch, Armadale, and Mandurah branches.

Dr. Lim has a keen interest in developing and third world medicine and has made a number of missionary trips into China, Cambodia, and Thailand. He is also interested in Indigenous Australian health and as a trainee, participated in trips to the Kimberley’s (northern part of Western Australia).

An avid tennis and martial arts fan, he also enjoys the great outdoors and is passionate about anything to do with nature.

He is happily married with four wonderful children.

He speaks English and Mandarin.
